　1. 用作及物或不及物动词时含义不同：

　advertise sth指为某物做广告，即登广告宣传某物，advertise for sth指登广告征求或寻找某物，其中的 for表目的。注意，不要受汉语的影响而译错，如?你要想卖掉你的产品, 你就得为此登广告?译成英语应是：

　If you want to sell your product you must advertise it. 而不是：

　2. 用作及物动词时，其后通常接名词或代词作宾语，虽然有时也接that从句，但通常会改为advertise the fact that?：
