discussion的用法

①discussion的基本意思是“讨论”“商讨”。表示讨论的“行为”,既可作可数名词,也可作不可数名词。

例如：Their case is now under discussion.他们的案件现在正在讨论中。

②discussion后可接介词about,of,on,over引出讨论的内容。

例如：The discussion over the plan lasted 3 hours.对这项计划的讨论进行了3个小时。

③under discussion在句中作表语或位于名词之后作定语,而不可用作状语。

例如：Their case is now under discussion.他们的案件现在正在讨论中。

communication的用法

①communication在商业信函和公文中常解释为“信函”。

例如：We have received your communication of 25 April. 我们在四月二十五日收到了您的信函。

②Ministry of Communications意为“交通部”，当中的Communications指的是所有一切交通方法或交通工具(means of communication)；

例如：He works in the service of the Ministry of communications. ? 他在交通部工作。?

③表示部队从后方到前方的“交通线”时，可用line of communication(s)。
